Electric Cars
It is a common misconception that electric cars are absolutely green and are harmless to the enviorment. Although electric cars do not require gas, they do require coal power plants to create their batteries. Also, electric car batteries only last two years, and they have compnents in them that are extremely toxic, and the batteries tend to only last a few years. As of now, both gasoline cars and electric cars have their pluses and deltas, but overtime electric cars will become by far more eco friendly with the devolopment of greener power plants, and more efficient batteries.

I agree with Nate. I would also like to add that the old batteries do cause alot of harm when they have to be deposed. Although according to the Electric cars presentation in class, the newer more efficient batteries that last longer can be recycled and will cause less harm then the old batteries did.
ReplyDeleteI think that if more people knew that electric cars can save money, more people would be interested in them.
ReplyDeleteI see a very bright future for electric cars, especially in the bay area. I think that since this area is well known for its High-Tech Companies who are willing to spend money on electric charging stations and since the Silicon Valley is full of a young crowd who are all willing to try new things (technology wise), we will see electric cars become much more common than they already are.
